During winter 2013\/14 Philipp Messner has been experimenting in the Dolomites with artificially colored snow, making use of proper snow guns and by adding food coloring to water. Walter Niedermayr is invited to collaborate in this context and so he realizes the group of works “Kunstschnee”. These multiple-part works (photographs and lightboxes) show on one hand landscape, snow, trees, on the other hand colored surfaces, overflows and breaches, which open up a hyper surreal level and reaching to the virtual.<\/p>\n
